Loungin’

Loungin’

Let’s face it: The world is reopening. Soon to be gone are the days, weeks, and months of lounging around in sweatpants and feeling no pressing obligation to wear “good” clothes. Fear not though, because I have a feeling that the comfort we’ve grown accustomed to will remain and continue behind closed doors even if we are putting our best (slightly uncomfortable) foot forward once we step outside into the world.

Loungewear will always have a place close to my heart, even as the world around me starts to rebound into the form it once had. I have learned so much about myself, the value of quality, how to pamper myself, and how I prefer my day to unfold and flow because of the scores of loungewear and sweatsuit sets I’ve purchased throughout this pandemic. Andie Swim is no different.

I was fortunate enough to try their new intimates line– which honestly could not have come at a better time. I have a slight obsession with loungewear that has a luxurious hand. In addition to the feel, the plant-based rayon makes it so lightweight that it feels like I’m not wearing anything at all. My favorite time of the day to slip into a set is after a soothing shower, when I’ve moisturized and and I’m able to curl up in bed with a good book. Ending my night on a good note, in comfort, makes space for me to wake up and have a peaceful and productive morning, full of gratitude and ease.

I also love the Andie sets because the tops are so versatile. Run out of almond milk in the middle of crafting the perfect latte? Just throw on some jeans (now that the weather’s warming up) and run to the bodega. The ability to double as a shirt is so important for someone like me who is habitually late to everything and who loves nothing more than being able to jump into a trouser, grab my bag, and head out of the door when late to a meetup or a doctor’s appointment I’ve been known to let slip from my memory.

At the end of the day, loungewear is here to stay but it’s place in our lives may play a different role as the world and friends become more and more accessible this spring. No, loungewear and intimates may not be our WFH wardrobe for much longer but it doesn’t negate its importance in our day-to-day lives. The momentum of self-care isn’t slowing down anytime soon nor is the nesting that has taken place in our homes. The care we take in our interior lives will reflect in our exterior lives and there is no better way to begin that process than with a great night’s sleep and an easeful morning process. Andie has definitely come in handy when tackling the areas of rest and ease which have not always been easy for me...

...and if you think I haven’t been wearing the tops outside as shirts, you’re sadly mistaken!
