Slip dresses undeniably had a moment for the past two years. The ease, elegance, and luxury of said garment drew in fashion enthusiasts near and far. From the most daring of dressers to the conservative, maximalists and minimalists alike donned their slip dresses á la Marques Almeida or from the aisles of Savers and traversed their city landscapes through the ever-changing seasons looking chic and feeling comfortable.

Nevertheless, times are a-changing. Slip skirts are the cozy-girl trend for the fall and it poses an important question: What will happen to all the slip dresses of the world? The answer: They will be converted into skirts with the use of sweaters. From midis to maxis, a dress can be transformed with one layer. A crew neck, a turtleneck, or a mock neck will transmogrify last season’s trend, ushering it into a new day because slip dresses are sooo last February. Who wants to be seen in a 6-month old trend?
