I wear a lot of red.

It’s just a color that looks great on me and a color that I have spent a lot of time perfecting (lipstick/nail polish). It was not always this way, however. Red can be intimidating. It is not for the weak or the weary. You cannot pussyfoot with red and I was definitely a pussyfooter. I just could not commit to it. I would don red lipstick and by the time I got to the subway station the red would have mysteriously disappeared. Red nail polish was even a struggle because it walked a fine line between mature and promiscuous. It is a commitment color. It may be one of the reasons red is a signifier for love. *snaps for depth* Nonetheless, I wear a lot of red. When articles of red clothing are paired together in a monochromatic fashion, the outfit not only exudes confidence but also efficiency. The warm tinges are playful with one another when coupled. The monochromatism begs to be looked at and observed, revered even. It signals to the world, “Yes, I am indeed here and I am not to be fucked with!” Red is audacious.
