We’ve officially reached the portion of the year in which it’s no longer warm, it’s not quite cold, but it’s undeniably damp. Welcome to autumn in New York. Autumn has grown to be my favorite season of having spent my adolescence in Boston and New York has a lot of the elements I love about autumnal New England: Leaves the hue of root vegetables that crunch underfoot, public spaces that transform in the various seasons, long walks in the park that seem a little more special as both daylight and warm temperatures wane.

For those special and important moments in nature, one needs a shoe that can withstand the ever-changing weather conditions. Those special moments require a shoe so comfortable, so sleek, so durable that its name rings bells across generations. Enter: Blundstone. Founded in 1870, they’ve been keeping people’s feet dry and cozy for 150 years. That is A LOT of feet and I am honored to be a part of the long tradition.

However, I was a little disinclined at first. I’ve seen them for years on the various sets I’ve worked. Production crews absolutely LOVE Blundstone boots and so did but I wanted something a little more sleek that I could pair with dresses and wear to meetings. With a short perusal of the website the 1352 boot in Shiraz (coincidentally, my favorite wine) caught my eye. I love that the boot is taller than their traditional boot and will protect my ankles from the winter elements. The 1352 is also waterproof so as not to deter me from leaving the house even on the days that bring autumnal showers. Even so, the grand opus of the 1352 boot is its penchant for style. This boot fits so seamlessly with the rest of my wardrobe. They’re malleable and can be worn with dresses, skirts, and the like, creating a business casual look or simply paired with denim and a t-shirt for a weekend look.

Given the present world events, I am not going to many meetings outside of Zoom these days but I still believe it is so important to get out and get as much fresh air. Blundstone and the 1352 are going to help me continue my summer tradition of doing just that whether it be a bike ride through Central Park or grabbing fresh produce from late season farmers’ markets come rain, sleet, or sunshine!
